Adios to the OG's of Teen Mom

Tuesday night marked the series finale of the original Teen Mom. Yes, yes, I still watch Teen Mom on MTV. (Okay, okay, and Teen Mom 2). So what? It's awesome.  It sounds cliché but I have enjoyed watching these girls and their babies grow up right before us since they were on 16 and Pregnant. Farrah, Macy, Catelynn, and Amber have all had their ups and downs and the MTV cameras were there to catch most of them. And if the MTV cameras weren't there, usually the paparazzi cameras were and they were documented in the tabloids. Farrah with her new boobs, Macy and her on and off relationship with Kyle, Catelynn and Tyler's future wedding plans, and all of Amber's legal woes. (I'd say poor Amber, but I don't feel bad for her at all.)

Since these girls are pretty mainstream lately, most people have at least a little idea of who they are. They are on the cover of tabloids and probably will continue to be for a little while longer. It's amazing to me that four girls, who made irresponsible decisions as teens have become "famous" because of this. But I guess that's the monster that is reality TV in this century. At least their children are set-up with college funds from the money they make from the show. With all that being said, here are my thoughts on the four "OG's" of the Teen Mom empire.

1) Farrah. Oh Farrah. Clueless, naive, ungrateful, and immature Farrah. WTF is up with the baby voice? All. The. Time. She has a terribly annoying regular voice so with the addition of the baby talk, it plain awful. And her mother Debra uses it all the time too. What's up with that? Baby Sofia is going to think that is how all people talk.

We saw this cry-face WAY too many times this series
I also feel bad for Sophia for the seemingly revolving door of guys that Farrah brings around. She seems so desperate to get in a relationship and find love, its pathetic to watch. Her most recent televised relationship with Daniel totally blew up in her face. But that was all on her. Who gives a guy that you have been dating for a month and a half an ultimatum to basically get serious and get married and have more kids or break-up? It's way too much. Put the brakes on Farrah. Geez. No guy your age is going to go for that so soon. And Farrah, did you really send your daughter to your mother's in another state so you can go to bartending school? Are you serious? For legit college classes is one thing, but bartending classes, are you for real? And please, please don't cry on television ever again. Twice in this episode was two times too many.

Finally, has anyone seen Farrah's new music video which she debuted with her memoir? In a word: Horrendous. Remember I said how awful her regular voice is? Well, if you actually click the link above, this is your warning. Beware. Oy. And the fact that the girl is like 20 years old and already has a memoir? Yes she's had kind of a rough life, but she has a lot more life to live, but I guess she couldn't wait to cash in even more on. Strike while the iron is hot, right?

2) Macy. Out of all the girls, Macy is my favorite. She seems to be the most stable and responsible and has the best head on her shoulders (but the worst skin) out of all the four girls. She has a great relationship with her current boyfriend Kyle and tries her best to get along with her baby daddy Ryan even though he is super immature and always seems to want to pick a fight. I really do hope that she can get motivated enough and get her college degree and not be so overwhelmed by school. She was right when she told her college advisor that the only way to better Bentley's life is to get herself an education. You go girl.

Adorbs
Macy's son Bentley also happens to be the cutest of the kids on Teen Mom. Frankly, Bentley needs his own show. He is adorable. And he is pretty unintentionally funny. (And his cute little Southern accent doesn't hurt either.) Get on that MTV. Just kidding though. That little boy needs a life without the cameras. But he will be a little heartbreaker some day.

Good luck you two!
3) Catelynn. Catelynn is the only girl that is still with her baby's father. Is it any coincidence they are the only ones put their child up for adoption? Although they made a heart-wrenching decision, they didn't have to grow up as fast as the others. And even though her and Tyler have gone through a lot since putting their child up for adoption, they seem to have a pretty solid relationship. I don't know how healthy it is (they seem pretty co-dependent on each other for being so young), but they do really seem to love each other and want to make it work for the long haul.

It has to be hard to them to keep talking about and re-living their choice to give up their daughter Carly for adoption. But I really do think they made the right decision for themselves and their daughter. It's super unfortunate how messed up their family situations are and its no wonder they didn't want to bring a child into that and want to get out themselves. I only hope they both keep up with the college studies, graduate, and get the heck out of dodge. I'm rooting for them.

4) Amber. Our resident trainwreck. She is just painful to watch. The anger is her is just plain sad and she really does need more professional help. She clearly learned nothing at rehab for her anger management and has not made any progression. I am sure she loves her daughter very much but she should not be around any children.  Her short temper and terrible language is appalling to watch and although Gary sometimes instigates with her, she overreacts in almost every situation she is in. The fact that those two reproduced is disgusting and hopefully little Leah has a fighting chance at a normal childhood and upbringing.

Sorry for this, but you had to see how gross it really is!
And Amber, what's with all the piercings? Her hand, two on her collarbone, on her nose, and next to her eye. And they all look red, swollen, and infected. It's so gross when they do close-ups. And the fake nails, fake eyelashes and all that eyeliner. In addition to a good shrink, Amber needs a stylist. Stat.

Although myself and many others do give these girls a hard time, I do wish them, and especially their children the best. I hope this show helped them see their faults and they can continually work on improving them. I know it opened many doors for all of them and I hope they take advantage without becoming famewhores. I also hope MTV provides us with updates on their lives (hopefully successes). I will miss these girls on my Tuesday nights...until the return of Leah, Jenelle, Kailyn, and Chelsea.
